Parks & Recreation Master Plan 2007-2012

Forestry

Arbor Day 2012: Don’t miss out on the opportunity to plant a tree in recognition or memory of someone special this spring – it is a great way to honor him or her. The Arbor Day Tree Donation Program has been established for area residents where trees can be planted for a variety of special occasions and as memorials. For further information on this program or to donate a tree, please contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 815–363–2160. The deadline for tree donations will be April 13, 2012. Arbor Day will be celebrated on April 27, 2012. McHenry has been named a Tree City USA community by the Arbor Day Foundation for eighteen years to honor its commitment to community forestry.
