PICNIC SHELTER RENTALS

Picnic Shelter Permits

Picnic shelter reservations can be made for Knox, Petersen and Veteran’s Memorial Parks. Reservations and payment can only be made in person. City Residents and Non–Profit organizations can begin reservations Tuesday, January 3. Non–Residents can begin reservations Wednesday, February 1. Shelter hours are from 9:00 am to dusk daily.

Rules & Regulations

Reservation and deposit fees are required for guaranteed weekday and weekend reservations. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the parks without a beer and wine permit. Without a permit, $25–$100 fines may be enforced. Alcohol and special use permits must be submitted 3–4 weeks prior to the reserved date. Falsifying the number of people for the reservation will result in the loss of deposit. Tent set–up and take down must occur the same day of the picnic unless special approval is obtained. Family groups of 150 people or more must reserve two shelters at Petersen Park. Companies must use Shelter C at Petersen Park.

Weddings at Veteran's Memorial Park

Wedding ceremonies may be held at Veteran's Memorial Park. Only one wedding per day will be scheduled. You may bring in rented chairs and tents, but please make note of this when you make your reservation. Rental equipment and decorations must be removed by the end of the day. You may request the removal of the rails on the gazebo. If you would like the rails removed an additional $25 maintenance fee will be applied.

Payment Process

Two separate payments are required for reservations, one for the reservation fee (dated the day the reservation is made) and for the deposit fee (dated for the day of the picnic). The deposit will be returned after the picnic as long as the site is clean and not damaged.
